When do I pickup my race packet?
- Early Bag Pick Up is AT THE BEACH -- Hueston Woods State Park (6301 Park Office Road College Corner, OH 45003) on Saturday August 10, between 12 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Packet pickup will be down at the beach area under the big tent by the transition area.
- Packets can be picked up race morning, August 11, 2013 between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m

- Timing chips can be picked up on race morning between 6 and 7:30 a.m. at the Hueston Woods State Park beach.

While registering, what category do I select?
- Age Group - 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,50-54,

- Elite Open* - Amateur 15-39 years old, has chance to finish in top 10 overall
- Elite Master* - Amateur 40-49 years old, has chance to finish in top 10 overall
- Clydesdale - Males racing weight groups, not age group - 200lbs+
- Athena - Females racing weight groups, not age group - 150lbs+
- Mountain Bike - racing on a heavier bike with wider tires then a triathlon bike

What is the USAT fee?
- Get 2 It Hueston Woods Triathlon is sanctioned by the USA Triathlon (USAT). The USAT provides insurance for the event with your annual membership fee or your one day membership fee.
- In order for the USAT to sanction the event, athletes must be members of USAT. Athletes that are not annual members of the USAT must purchase a one day license for $12 in order to participate. More information can be found at www.usatriathlon.org/

What are the rules?
- Get 2 It Hueston Woods Triathlon is a family friendly event that was established to allow participants that are new to multisport to participate in an enjoyable event. Race rules are in place to allow for the enjoyment by all athletes.
- Specific rules can be found at www.usatriathlon.org/events/rules.aspx
- The general rules are as follows:
- For triathletes, start with your swim wave according to age group. Wetsuits are always permitted.
- No swim aids, other than the wetsuit, will be permitted.
- Rack your bike according to the assignment board located in the transition area.
- Walk your bike into and out of the transition area. No bike riding in the transition area.
- Approved helmets must be worn while on the bike, even during race warm up.
- No drafting while on the bike. You must leave at least 3 bike lengths between you and the bike in front of you.
- Stay to the right while biking. When passing, announce "on your left" when passing other athletes. Pass on the left, once clear move back to the right. This path will be open to persons not in the race. Use extreme caution when passing these individuals.
- Wear your timing chip on your ankle using the Velcro strap provided. Teams must transfer the chip from one athlete to the next in the transition area near your bike location.
- Team athletes should stage near the transition area and make the chip transfer at the bike rack.
- Bike helmets must have the race number on the front, the bike number must be placed somewhere on the frame and the race number should be facing forward on your race shirt or belt.
- Turn in your timing chip after crossing the finish line in the finish chute.
- It is the athlete's responsibility to know the course and follow instructions. Routes will be marked with chalk (run course), buoys (swim) and painted arrows (bike).

What is the course?
- RUN/WALK . 5 kilometers in a combination of woods and roads, inside Hueston
Woods State Park.
- KIDS FUN RUN . The Kids Fun Run will take place near the transition area
starting in the woods. The run will be approximately 1/4 mile long.
- TRIATHLON - 750 meter swim, 20 kilometer bike (new sprint distance), 5 kilometer run
- SWIM . The 750 meter swim will be in Hueston Woods beautiful
Acton Lake. You will start the swim on the beach in age group waves. You will exit the swim after your lap at the
beach and head to the transition area. Most of the swim will be in shallow ( 4 foot depth) water, you may stand if necessary. Lifeguards will be on duty.
- BIKE . The 20 kilometer (new sprint distance) hilly and fast bike course will take you out of
Hueston Woods parking lot and through Miami University. Police officers and volunteers will be along the route to control traffic and assist athletes. The route will be marked with painted arrows at each intersection.
- RUN . The 5 kilometer flat run course will take athletes from the transition area through
Hueston Woods and back to the finish chute.
- DUATHLON . 5 kilometer run, 20 kilometer bike (new sprint distance), 5 kilometer run
Duathletes will follow the same run and bike routes described above.

What is the water temperature?
- Approximately 75ºF. Wetsuits are permitted and recommended. In prior years, many athletes successfully completed the swim without a wetsuit.

What time should I arrive?
- Triathletes and Duathletes should arrive at least one hour early to allow for ample time to find your assigned bike rack and get things organized. We expect a large number of participants and space will be at a premium. Lines may be long so the earlier the better. The race will start on time.

Where do I park?
- Enter at the Hueston Woods main entrance on Brown Road, turn left and follow the signs to the beach. You will park near the transition area at the beach.

What do I wear?
- Think about a clothing item that you can swim, bike, and run in without having to make a complete wardrobe change in the transition area as this will cost you precious time. One-piece race apparel is available for males and females as well as tri shorts that work well for all disciplines.
